What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Pay is good for graduate
Graduate, Melbourne - 19 Jul 2024
I think it's great, but I have heard that other grad programs elsewhere pay more.
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jul 2024
The pay is pretty good, and I believe it is above the average legal graduate pay. I think it is quite a bit less than top tier law firms, but I am quite happy with what I am paid. The Big Build graduate programme also pays quite a bit better than the wider Victorian Government gradate programme.
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jul 2024
Pay is ok, better than some other companies compared to for my level but increases each year aren't great.
Graduate, Melbourne - 17 Jul 2024
Pay is great as it is on the higher end I believe, and the bonuses apply for graduates too which is not usually that common.
Graduate, Melbourne - 16 Jul 2024
The pay for a graduate at Level Crossings is great, very much above what I have seen for other graduate programs.
Graduate, Melbourne - 16 Jul 2024
Pay is very good but I think I'm getting the pay of a VPS 3 while doing the work of a VPS 4. I think we either should get a pay rise or not have to increase our workload in the final rotation. Mid year lump sum is something to look forward to.
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Jul 2024
Pay and bonuses are adequate for the work and hours expected.
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Jul 2024
Good pay and benefits and covered by VPS Enterprise Agreements, so guaranteed payrises.
Graduate, Melbourne - 05 Jul 2024
Very satisfied as someone not even two years into full time work.
Graduate, Melbourne - 01 Jul 2024
I think the pay is pretty solid for a graduate role. I had several other offers, but this was by far the highest paying role I had an offer for (and also my first preference, so it was an easy choice!). Getting a salary increase every year is really nice too, and the way this is done is very transparent so I can't complain. There are also the mobility payments which are a nice bonus and a one-off cost of living payment coming soon potentially which will be really helpful.
Graduate, Melbourne - 28 Jun 2024
As it is a vps role we are under the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement which is negotiated on our behalf. I am happy with my compensation and feel that there is clear guideline on pays and progression within this.
Graduate, Melbourne - 28 Jun 2024
The pay is higher than average when compared to competitors in the industry.
Graduate, Melbourne - 27 Jun 2024
For a graduate level, pay is somewhere in the middle to good range. Bonuses only come once a year through movement within the band. The bargaining agreement leaves something to be desired as inflation has greatly reduced real wages, but overall, remuneration is good.
Graduate, Melbourne - 27 Jun 2024
Very good for a graduate
Graduate, Melbourne - 02 Mar 2021
Being in the government sector right now, there is a lot of security with pay and the role. I am comfortable with what I get paid and opportunities to progress further and am able to live quite comfortably.
Graduate, Melbourne - 01 Mar 2021
I don't believe that there are any bonuses but progression is available every year.
Graduate, Melbourne - 01 Mar 2021
Public sector wages, no bonuses but generally fair.
Graduate, Melbourne - 01 Mar 2021
Amazing pay for a grad job!

We have access to heavily discounted gym memberships for a variety of gyms across Australia. We also have access to a cashback website (similar to Shopback or Cashrewards) which can have quite good deals. This includes discounts or cashback on things such as groceries, insurances and general shopping. We also have access to study leave and you may be able to have course fees paid for courses relevant to your role.

There are little to no perks from this perspective, although this is quite normal for government organisations and does not affect my satisfaction in the role.

N/A - As a government organisation we are tight on spending public money on items that do not improve the project outcome.
