Management at Victoria's Big Build

My managers are all very open and available. My line manager is an amazing mentor to me and from the beginning has helped me to navigate my work very openly. We have meetings every fortnight to chat about what's been going both in work and outside of work.The yearly achievement plan system allows you to receive feedback on how your projects and work are moving.

Managers have all been great, all excellent mentors. Great feedback, couldnt be happier.

I have had a great experience with my managers so far at Victoria's Big Build. They have been kind and accommodating and are never too busy to answer any of my questions. They take time to review my work and provide valuable feedback/recognition for tasks completed.

Managers are always available to help you when you need it and send you a lot of helpful information and resources to ensure you are given all the important information you need to do the job. They are open to phone calls if you need to ask a quick question which makes communication very easy.

Each manager I have had has been a really great mentor to me. They have each been very motivated to help me develop as a young professional, which I am very grateful for! Because of the layout of the graduate program, I have received feedback after each rotation, which has been very helpful. All of my managers have also provided feedback while in the rotation with them.

Rotation managers are great, very engaged with me. Home manager doesn't care about what I do and I barely see her.

I personally have had a good experience with management. My manager has also undergone leadership training and I have seen the change in how they communicate with the team. There is a structured reporting system that assesses worker performance that is reviewed regularly. The company also has ongoing opportunities to give recognition to co-workers and companywide awards for high performance and achievements.

Manager is easily approachable and a good mentor. Talk with them almost daily and shadow them in meetings.

Sometimes my manager is extremely busy and hard to get a hold of, but she has been giving me time for weekly 1:1's and helping me in other ways by connecting me to other teams, providing feedback, and helping me prioritise tasks. Despite her being busy, she makes an effort to help me when I need it.

For the rotational program we have a home manager throughout the 2 years and a rotation manager who you work with daily. This ensures that there is always someone for you to go to with any issues or queries. The program is set up well to have personal development meetings and catch ups with them.

Most managers are brilliant at guiding you through tasks which you may be unsure about and are more than willing to mentor you through the future of your career. There is strong internal communication about performance, with incremental meetings set up throughout the program.

I have had mixed experiences of managers - some are absent and unsupportive, and some are conscientious and kind. Others are quite involved, and some are more hands off. As in any organisation, management will always vary in quality and style. Very few that I have worked under have mentoring capacity, and most have not given any meaningful feedback or guidance.

Managers are great, strong focus on the individual and what they want to learn. always easy to contact. The project also has a separate mentoring program linking senior staff with grads.
