Working in infrastructure, it is difficult to justify the economic and environmental impact of our work in the short term. However, sustainability initiatives are rewarded with funding and there are networks that encourage the sharing and collaboration of information in new spaces. strong focus on public accountability and ethics with regular training, reputation is critical on major public projects. I would like to see more community outreach but suspect this has been limited in past year due to covid. Presently only comms and stakeholder teams/grads are involved in community programs and events.
