Rail Projects Victoria is the Victorian Government body responsible for the development and delivery of the Metro Tunnel Project, Regional Rail Revival, Melbourne Airport Rail and the Geelong Fast Rail.
Rail Projects Victoria is looking for students with Interests in Document Control, Records Management, Information & Cyber Security, Application Support and Information Systems to join our IT team! During your time with our team, you will be working alongside a team of professionals, and get involved in many IT activities including working with our project's IT specialists. You’ll also assist with the development of IT activities across the broad spectrum of areas to develop your industry knowledge. You will have the opportunity to deliver your projects and improve processes and systems where possible. You will participate in tailored learning sessions to further develop your personal and professional skills. RPV is also looking for interns with a keen interest and relevant studies in Business Analytics to join our Network Coordination & Disruptions team!
We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in kickstarting their career in information technology and business analytics. It would be preferred if you have strong written and verbal communication skills, display strong attention to detail and are someone who enjoys building positive working relationships. Experience in using MS Office applications is also preferred. If you consider yourself to have a can-do attitude and are good at managing yourself in ambiguous situations, this could be the role for you!
To be eligible for this role you must be currently enrolled at university studying a tertiary qualification in Information Technology/Systems, Business Analytics or related discipline. You must remain enrolled throughout the IBL Program, however, must defer your allocated subjects whilst completing the internship. You also must hold Working Rights in Australia that allow you to work full-time (38hrs/wk).

Once you apply online and pass an eligibility screening you will be invited to complete a video interview to tell us more about yourself and why you want to be at RPV. If you impress us and prove to be a strong fit for the role, you will be invited to either a group assessment centre or panel interview.
Successful applicants will be offered a position in October/November and commence employment in January 2023, pending COVID-19.

I work on a couple of projects that are all from different aspects of the program. I am able to socialise myself in lots of different teams and areas of the program each day. Although I work at head office there is always an opportunity to go out for a site tour!
Auditing, filing tasks, compliance checks, design change checks
I spend most days organising hoarding for worksites, reviewing collateral, monitoring social media and assisting with stakeholder enquiries. I enjoy the work I'm doing but sometimes it can be a bit quiet, and I feel like there's not much for me to do.
