Victoria’s Big Build (Major Transport Infrastructure Authority – MTIA) was established to oversee the major transport projects in planning and construction to deliver 165 major road and rail projects that will change the way that Victorians work, live and travel.
Projects teams include - Rail Projects Victoria (Metro Tunnel, Melbourne Airport Rail, Regional Rail Revival), North East Link Program, West Gate Tunnel Project, Level Crossing Removal Project, and Major Roads Project Victoria.
MTIA works closely with the Department of Transport to ensure major construction activities and disruptions are coordinated across the network. This includes plans to keep people moving through major work periods. We also work with the industry to ensure it has the skilled workers needed to deliver Victoria’s massive construction program.
You'll develop capability in the promotion of safe work culture and be involved with the coordination of all health and safety aspects of activities undertaken by project staff and contractors. You'll gain an understanding of safety systems development, implementation and auditing, relationship management and providing sound advice in accordance with legislative requirements, policies and procedures.

When you join the program, you'll be employed full time at a salary of $74,580 + superannuation (effective from December 2024 – as per VPS EA 2020).

To be eligible, you must have completed your degree between January 2022 and January 2025 and have Australian full working rights at the time of application.
