There wasn't any formal training but I had a mentor show me and navigate the technology stack. When I first started I got a given task with something I was familiar with and later expanded using other tools and programming languages. While I received a few tasks to work on, I studied and completed certificates that NEC funded which really helped me to learn new skills and knowledge to do my work in that field. The skills I picked up are scripting languages like PowerShell and Python. Learning to use AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code like Terraform.

There's on the job training and formal training through NEC academy. The on-the-job training is great I think as I'm learning a lot of skills whiles also doing the job, although it can be very challenging. Picked up a lot of technical skills such as VMware, Windows Management etc. from the on-the-job training. Formal training is available from the NEC academy to get certifications, I've picked up Cyber Security certifications.

I like to learn through doing. Theory/watching videos only gets me so far. I am able to get a wide range of jobs to do to help me learn.
