Glencore Australia has a number of opportunities opening to graduating or recently graduated university students to join our Process Engineering Graduate Program. You will be an important part of a global company that wants you to succeed, not just for the benefit of the organization but also so you can achieve your own career goals.

As a Process/Chemical Engineering Graduate, you will work in some of the most well-established mining districts, which have pioneered several mining innovations whilst producing some of the current local and global mining and resource leaders.   Our industry-leading and experienced professionals will challenge you each step of the way – to think differently, ask questions and come up with creative solutions. You will have access to unrivalled opportunities and unlimited potential to grow your career. This is your opportunity to test your skills and creativity in real situations, working with some of the best in your field. If you are keen to grow with us and relish the opportunity to work and live in our mining regions in NSW and QLD to build an exciting career, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Graduate Process Engineer, you will be rotated through different mine sites bringing unique experiences and developing a well-rounded experience.  You will primarily identify opportunities for improvement and implement process solutions to maximise CHPP throughput, operational time and metallurgical recovery. You will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the resource production chain from mine development through to the port, with a large focus on coal quality and resource recovery.

Your responsibilities will include reducing unit operating cost per tonne, upskilling processing plant personnel and contributing to daily, weekly and monthly production plans. You will work closely with production supervisors and processing plant teams in order to achieve cost and production targets. The opportunity to spend time with the operations teams learning how to operate the processing plants will be provided at each rotation, alongside gaining an understanding of asset management and improving plant availability through working with the maintenance teams. There will also be opportunities to complete site improvement projects and work with innovative teams focusing on future-facing technologies such as coal-to-hydrogen projects. Add all these learning opportunities to working in our close-knit, high-performing teams; you’ll really get an unprecedented experience.

About you:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical/Metallurgical/Minerals Processing/Process) or similar;
  • Graduated from university within the last 2 years
