What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
I'm satisfied with the pay. I'm glad that HR often review salary based on the market demand and increase it to match that. Bonuses are great too.

As a graduate engineer, the pay is a little lower than average for the role. However, the pay increases after attaining a proper position and the work is fulfilling so it's worth it to continue forward.

Decent pay for a graduate engineer, although given the highly competitive selection process and specialised field, plus a very profitable company, would expect it to be marginally higher (maybe 10% more).

Graduate salary is reasonable and placement into our final roles as engineers does come with a pay increase. Bonuses are allocated based on company performance in the year and we have yet to receive them this year.

I don't know much about it. Graduate salary seems to be fairly median with industry.

Generally I am satisfied. The company is extremely profitable so sometimes it is a bit disheartening to hear colleagues express their dissatisfaction or struggle to get more.

Pay is in line with industry standards for graduates, however, does not particularly reflect the competitive nature of getting selected for the internship and graduate program.

It's understood that Cochlear pays near the average for their industry, although this was the highest paying role I've had so far.

Could definitely improve on the pay and bonuses compared to other companies in the embedded software space.
Graduate, Sydney - 30 Oct 2023
Lower pay compared to other medical device companies/engineering fields.
Graduate, Sydney - 29 Oct 2023
Not competitive pay. Salary has not increased with inflation, which is difficult when considering the cost of living in Sydney.

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
Having a desk instead of a hot desk.
Graduate, Sydney - 16 Aug 2024
Free lunches and dinners when there is a celebration. Opportunities to get involved with professional and university events which include galas and other celebrations.
Graduate, Sydney - 15 Aug 2024
Not sure, have not been told about anything.
Graduate, Sydney - 15 Aug 2024
No perks come to mind. I know some companies are pursuing policies like mental health days once a quarter. This is something I'd like to see implemented.

Cochlear advantage is nice to provide some everyday discounts but isn't talked about much (so a bit hidden once you start).
Graduate, Sydney - 02 Aug 2024
Frequent events. The People team puts together well thought out and entertaining events for special occasions which pretty much take up the day.
Intern, Sydney - 12 Feb 2024
Opportunity to travel for work!
Graduate, Sydney - 02 Nov 2023
Very limited perks available.
